Southern Illinois Student Art Competition Artstarts Company, a non-profit charitable organization, established to promote art and artists in Southern Illinois, announces the winners of its second annual art competition. The theme of this year’s competition is cat masks.

Grade School Competition

First place winner - Kyleigh Lewis, Goreville, IL
Second place winner - Kaylie Webb, Goreville, IL
Third place winner - Chase Regenhardt, Mt. Vernon, IL

Honorable Mention - Nathan Smith, Goreville, IL; Andrew Nixon, Goreville, IL and Julee Bailey, Mt. Vernon, IL

High School Competition

First place winner - William McGraff, Carbondale, IL
Second place winner - Maquel Carter, Waltonville, IL

All entries were displayed at the Marion Cultural and Civic Center on March 23, 24, and 25, 2007. Winners were acknowledged during intermission at the CATS production.
